Visit to Village Museum in Dar es Salaam

One of my many reason for visiting Tanzania was to experience authentic African culture. However, since I was only visiting Tanzania and under significant time constraints, I was a bit worried that I would not be able to do so. Thankfully, there was a Village Museum located in the heart of Dar es Salaam.

The Museum had a rural setting with trees, huts and other artifacts associated with country dwelling. There were various types of huts representing the country’s 18 tribes and their way of life.

After a full tour of the museum I enjoyed a performance by the dancers and drummers. The performance was very beautifully choreographed and very creative. I aspire to be able to move my feet and waist so swiftly.

Overall, it was a great experience. Will keep pressing!
