In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Beneath Your Feet.”
It is astonishing how oblivious we often are to our settings and what is really under our feet. My most memorable experience of anything meaningful or historic being under my feet was visiting the parking lot in Berlin where Hitler built his bunker and eventually ended up killing himself. The parking lot is now the back of a luxury building where people walk their dogs. No memorial or indication was built as a means of not glorifying Hitler’s legacy.
My intentions are not to sensationalize this story or glorify the space but as an history buff being at this location was a big deal for me and I am happy that the place is literally left to the dogs.
